Booking & Pricing

How much does a deep sea fishing charter cost in Destin?

Due to seasonal changes and availability, our trip rates vary. Please give us a call directly at 504.535.3491 for the most up-to-date pricing and to book your charter.

What is your deposit and cancellation policy?

We require a 10% deposit via credit card to secure your reservation. Please note that there are no refunds for cancellations or no-shows, so we highly recommend finalizing your group’s plans before booking.

How far in advance should I book my fishing trip?

Booking early is essential! For the best selection of dates, especially for the summer season or the October Destin Fishing Rodeo, we recommend making your reservations as soon as possible. Spring and early summer trips fill up extremely fast.

How many people can come on the charter?

Our Coast Guard regulations and commitment to a five-star experience limit our trips to a maximum of 6 passengers for our 4 to 18-hour day trips. For our 24 to 48-hour overnight trips, the maximum capacity is 5 passengers.

The Boat & Amenities

What kind of boat is the Championship?

The Championship (affectionately known as the “Little Baby Sea Pig”) is a premium 42′ Buddy Davis sportfishing boat. Powered by Twin Cummins QSL9 engines kicking out over 1,200 HP, she cruises at nearly 30 knots to get you to the fishing grounds fast.

Is there a bathroom and air conditioning on the boat?

Yes! Our vessel is designed for maximum comfort. It features a fully air-conditioned cabin, a kitchen (galley), a saloon, state rooms, and a clean bathroom complete with a shower. We also offer Starlink WiFi on board.

Who will be navigating our trip?

You will be in the expert hands of Captain Matthew Champion, who has been fishing the Emerald Coast since 1987 and won Captain of the Year in the Destin Fishing Rodeo. For overnight trips, you’ll also be joined by Co-Captain Christian, who has over 20 years of tournament fishing experience.

The Fishing Experience

What is included in the price of the charter?

We provide everything you need for a successful day on the water. This includes all premium tackle, bait, ice, and your Florida saltwater fishing licenses.

Do I need to buy my own Florida fishing license?

No, you do not need to purchase an individual fishing license. Your licensing is completely covered under our federally permitted vessel for the duration of your trip.

Do you clean the fish we catch?

Absolutely. After returning to the Destin Harbor, our hardworking mates will professionally clean, fillet, and bag your catch so it is ready for you to take home and enjoy.

How much should I tip the mate?

Our mates work incredibly hard before, during, and after your trip to ensure you have a great time and go home with clean fish. A customary and highly appreciated tip is 20% to 25% of the total charter cost.

How far offshore do you go?

It depends entirely on the length of your trip! On a 4-6 hour trip, we might go up to 20 miles out. On a 10-12 hour trip, we venture 35-55 miles out. For our ultimate 24-48 hour overnight trips targeting big pelagics at the oil rigs, we can travel up to 180 miles offshore.

What types of fish will we catch?

Depending on the season and trip length, we target a massive variety of Gulf species. Common catches include Red Snapper, Vermilion Snapper, Grouper, Amberjack, Mahi Mahi, Yellowfin Tuna, Wahoo, Sailfish, Blue and White Marlin, and Swordfish.

When is the best time to catch Red Snapper in Destin?

Red Snapper is a highly sought-after summer catch. The federal Red Snapper season typically opens in the summer months, making it the best time to book if you want to target these delicious bottom fish.

Can I participate in the Destin Fishing Rodeo if I fish with you?

Yes! The Destin Fishing Rodeo runs every day throughout the month of October. If you book a charter with us during this time, your entry fee into the tournament is completely free (included in your trip). We participate in the Offshore, Billfish, Deep Drop, and Oddball divisions.

Are your fishing trips kid-friendly?

Yes, families love our charters! For groups with younger children, we highly recommend our 4-hour or 6-hour AM/PM trips. These shorter charters give you a great sampler of Destin’s nearshore and offshore fishing without keeping the kids out on the water for too long.

Do you offer catch-and-release trips for Marlin?

We certainly do. On our extended overnight trips (24 to 48 hours), we often do strict tag-and-release fishing for Marlin using live tuna as bait near the deep-water drill ships and oil rigs.
